What we make
Three traditions, one workshop discipline.
A piece from Carpenters Choice is built to be handed down. Joinery that can be taken apart and re-glued, finishes that can be stripped and redone, and timber that has been seasoned before it is cut.
Indo-Portuguese
Carved and turned forms in the tradition of Goa's old houses: the cabinets, chests, and long benches that furnished Fontainhas and the villages before them.
Art Deco
The geometric lines of Panjim's mid-century buildings, in wood. Clean fronts, stepped profiles, and proportions that suit apartments as well as houses.
Architects and designers
Made to drawing, quoted from the drawing.
We work with architects and interior designers on pieces made to their drawings and on project quantities — a villa's worth of doors and wardrobes, a restaurant's tables, a run of built-ins. Send drawings, a finish reference, and a schedule, and we quote from those.

Fifty-three years on the same road.
Carpenters Choice opened in 1973, before the Magnum name existed, and is the oldest business in the group. Much of the furniture in Panjim's older homes and offices came through this showroom, and a fair amount of it still comes back for re-polishing.
